The Commonwealth of Lambda Aurigae (CLA), often natively referred to as simply Lambda (See § Name), is an independent minor interstellar power spanning two systems, the Lambda Aurigae system and the Volga system. It was founded by Russian and Ukrainian colonists (primarily from the Russian Republic) in 2184.
Name
The CLA is officially known in Russian as Содружество Лямбда Возничего Sodruzhestvo Lyambda Voznichego and in Ukrainian as Співдружність Лямбда Золотиста Spivdruzhnist' Lyambda Zolotysta, which both translate to "Commonwealth of Lambda Aurigae". The official short form of the name, according to the Constitution, is "Lambda" (Лямбда Lyambda in both languages). Informally, it is also referred to as Содля Sodlya (Содружество Лямбда Sodruzhestvo Lyambda) in Russian and Спіля Spilya (Співдружність Лямбда Spivdruzhnist' Lyambda) in Ukrainian.
