Harlowism, also known as Post-nazism, is a political movement and ideology popularised by and named after former political columnist Jonathan Harlow (2164–2258). It is based around white supremacy, scientific racism and advocacy of eugenics, being strongly inspired by the National-Socialist (or Nazi) movement of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In 2201, after the end of the Argentine-Jerichoan War, millions of refugees from the systems affected by the war arrived in the NAC, being primarily of Latin-American and Polish-Jewish descent. This caused outrage in reactionaries such as Harlow, who claimed this was an "invasion of [their] space" and "the first steps in white genocide (sic.)". Harlow, being hailed as a figurehead of this movement, gained tremendous support and started his own political podcast, The Jonathan Harlow Show, which at its peak was watched by millions.

By the 2220s, with the new wave of private space colonialism, there had been several failed attempts at colonisation by Harlowist groups. "Harlowist Parties" were gaining more and more traction in planetary governments across the Orion Arm, with a record 17.3% by the Harlowist Party of the Belt in the 2229 general election in the Consortium of the Belt. The Harlowist movement peaked in 2253 with the Harlowist insurrection, which was a series of Harlowist riots across the Orion Arm, with even an attempted coup d’état on Felicita in the Alexandria system. The riots were crushed by local forces and Jonathan Harlow, then aged 89, was arrested by the NAC government for inciting and supporting the insurrection. He died in prison in 2258.

Symbols

Harlowism repurposes a lot of Nazi and neo-Nazi symbols, such as the Black Sun (Sonnenrad) or Sun cross (Sonnenkreuz). A common symbol specific to Harlowism is the Nordic rune Hagall (ᚼ), representing Jonathan Harlow.
