The Great Orion War, sometimes referred to as the Second Orion War (in reference to the Argentine-Jerichoan War being considered the first), was a wide-reaching military conflict that spanned the entire Orion Arm. It started after the assassination of NAC president Sophie Levallois which was blamed on the Union of Outer Colonies, when it was in fact performed by the terrorist group The Circle. As a consequence, Earth was completely destroyed in the Battle of Earth, leaving behind less than 1 million survivors.
