The Union of Voivoda is a planetary government in the EV Lacertae system. It was founded in 2249 by colonists from the Balkan region of Earth. Despite being a fairly new colony, it has grown steadily thanks to its close proximity to the 61 Cygni and Sol systems, located on the primary trade route in the Orion Arm.

History

First settlements

The first colonists landed on Voivoda on March 12, 2249. The original settlers consisted primarily of ethnic Serbs and Croats, with a significant Albanian-Kosovar minority as well as 22 Bulgarians. Initial settlements were concentrated around a region that would come to be referred to as the "Great Lakes", primarily around Lake Unija, the largest of the region. The capital city of Savezgrad was founded on the island of Nova Srbija.
