The Shirvan Civil War was an armed conflict on the planet Shirvan in the Elbrus system from 2263 to 2271. It began when the Islamic fundamentalist militant group Akhtaran captured towns under control of the State of Shirvan in April 2263. The North Atlantic Conglomerate (NAC) joined the conflict in June 2263 as part of Operation Resolute Shield. The conflict ended in 2271 when the HAL-backed Akhtaran took over the capital city of Mingachevir, leading to NAC forces pulling out of the Elbrus system and the establishment of the Shirvan Caliphate.
