The EV Lacertae system (EV Lac) is a star system located in the Solar Sector. It was first settled in 2249 by colonists from the Balkan region of Earth. Its close proximity to the 61 Cygni system has been a factor for its steady development.

Etymology

The name EV Lacertae follows the variable-star naming designation, with the star being located in the constellation Lacerta. Other scientific names for the star include Gliese 873, HIP 112460 and LHS 3853.

Colloquially, EV Lacertae is known as Евка/Evka by the inhabitants of the system. This is a hypocoristic form of the female name Ева/Eva, with the suffix -ка/-ka.
