The '''Sol system''' (also simply known as the '''Solar system''') is the most populous system in the [[Orion Arm]] and the star system of origin of humans. It was humanity's only home until the first extrasolar expansion in 2056 and the colonisation of [[Proxima]]. The Sol system remains the center of all trade and a major political influence in the Orion Arm.
