The name ''EV Lacertae'' follows the [[Wikipedia:Variable-star designation|variable-star]] naming designation, with the star being located in the [[Constellation|constellation]] [[Wikipedia:Lacerta|Lacerta]]. Other scientific names for the star include Gliese 873, HIP 112460 and LHS 3853.

Colloquially, EV Lacertae is known as ''Евка/Evka'' by the inhabitants of the system. This is a hypocoristic form of the female name ''Ева/Eva'', with the suffix ''-ка/-ka''.
